Among her films are ''Mississippi Masala'', ''The Namesake'', the Golden Lion–winning ''Monsoon Wedding'', and ''Salaam Bombay!'', which received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language.
